Dr. Glenn Toby started The Book Bank Foundation to work against illiteracy and support people who have been overlooked, with books and resources that build literacy, self-esteem, and success.
He came to this through his own life. Reading got him out. Your support can do the same for someone else.
Origin Story
Born From Experience
After the eviction on Sterling Place in Brooklyn, the years that followed ran from relatives, friends, and government agency support to sleepless nights in Grand Central Station. He knows what a book can do because a book is what he had.
Reading became his refuge and his way out of poverty. It shaped his philosophy of giving down, sharing from abundance, and giving up, letting go of what no longer serves. He calls ignorance a disease and literacy the cure.
Today the foundation works across multiple U.S. cities with schools, shelters, community centers, and faith based organizations.
